Actuator Cyberattack Handling Using Lyapunov-based Economic Model Predictive Control

Cybersecurity has gained increasing interest as a consequence of the potential impacts cyberattacks on profits and safety. While attacks can affect various components plant, prior work from our group focused impact control such process sensors actuators development detection strategies for cybersecurity derived theory. In this work, we provide greater focus actuator attacks; specifically, extend strategy previously applied sensor based an optimization-based technique called Lyapunov-based economic model predictive (LEMPC) to detect impacting action by when state measurements provided controller are accurate. Closed-loop stability guarantees rigorously derived. A continuous stirred tank reactor is simulated elucidate aspects proposed.
